Growing a business takes time and the ability to surpass failure. Find out how you can defeat failure and reach much wanted success.   Are you stuck? Here’s a quick advice: don’t quit! I remember when I was just starting with affiliate marketing, I had a huge success with an offer in January 2009 centered on something that Oprah does in her show. Because it’s January, people are keen on weight loss and I was able to look ahead of everybody and build a campaign around that concept that Oprah was promoting on her show. What I did is bid on Oprah.com and create an ad which is congruent to the weight loss they are promoting on the show and it generated a tone of revenue for me. Actually, there is a strategy here. Remember that bidding on domain names is a powerful way to capture traffic and apart from that, make sure you are being congruent throughout the process. For example, if you have a weight loss ad, the keyword must be congruent, but more than that, the landing page they see after they click on the ad should be congruent with each other. Doing this earns you a much higher conversation rate and you don’t lose people as much. So this success of mine was in January and it’s good but the months that followed, I struggled hard. Around this time I learned patience and persistence. It will not be easy always and the trick is to not give up and keep going, keep tweaking what you’re doing, learn from success stories of others, and focus on little victories. Don’t get stuck on the challenges but be patient and persistent to move past them; in fact don’t even start affiliate marketing if you’re going to quit when you run into a few barriers and run into some resistance! For sure you will run into failure but you will only reach success if you don’t give up.

suprised boyTaking your business to the next level doesn’t have to be complicated. Lack of growth in your business does not come from external factors but from internal decisions that are made everyday within your company. The most common mistake committed in internet marketing is not sticking with your ideas that work. If you find one idea that drives sales to your business, instead of focusing on expanding on that idea, often you can get distracted by trying to come up with a new idea and leave the one that is working too soon. Take a look at your business and see which ideas create revenue, which ideas are getting clicks, which ideas are driving traffic, which ideas are bringing you growth and come up with ways to expand on them. Generally, there are two ways to capitalize on your working ideas and grow you business:
  1. Get more customers – Look at your current business and identify what is already bringing customers in the door. Ask yourself, ‘how can I do more of that?” How can you create more relationships like that? Zero in on which media buys, Google ads, or Facebook ads are working and how you can do more of that.
  2. Increase initial order – Look at what’s already working. What are people buying from you? How can you offer more of that? Extend the offer to more months? Increase packaging? Think of ways to up sell and increase transactions so you earn more revenue easily.
Zero in on what works. Don’t get distracted with the “next best thing” and leave profits on the table. -Jeff

If you have an answer to this question, I’m so happy for you. If you don’t, then you better start taking action because ideas alone can never get you any money! You know what, when I was just beginning my online marketing career, I did not know a lot of things; in fact, if you know me personally you will know that I’m technically retarded! One time I wanted to shoot a video to share something but I did not know how to go about it exactly and I ended up doing the video three times. You may think I took a long time just to get the video up but the point is I did put it up and I did learn how to shoot the video along the way! The key here is taking action on your ideas. You can have one great idea or even 20 great ideas but if you don’t take action on them, nothing will happen. They will just be ideas that you run back and forth your mind and you will not get any money out of them. Focus on one idea and take major actions. Some people don’t because they are afraid of making mistakes. The thing is you shouldn’t be afraid of making mistakes because one, you are surely going to make them, and two, you can always learn from them. Taking action is the only way to know whether an idea will work or not. Stop thinking of what idea might work. Go out into the market and see what will work for yourself. You have to implement and get something rolling. Don’t worry about results! Focus on one thing in your business and start taking major action on it. It’s the only way to become a success!

Here are a couple of tips to get more cash for your business as soon as possible, even for beginners.   Here is a simple advice to help you get your affiliate business raking in a higher payout: negotiate. See if you look at many affiliate markets, the price listed there is usually the lowest payout that you will be able to get. Others simply content themselves with this price and just try to overcome it by generating a lot of lead or conversions, but there is a better way to get more income for your business and that is to simply negotiate with your affiliate manager. This is where building relationships come in. It is very important as negotiating becomes easier when your affiliate manager not only knows you but likes you. The first thing you need to do here, just as I did, is get on the phone and start talking with your affiliate manager. Tell them what you are up to, what are your plans, where you are going and start negotiating. They will understand most of the time and will give you a bump. Even if you are brand new, you can usually get 10% to 20% more and that is because you did ask for it. Most people don’t even ask and this very little thing makes a lot of difference! Another thing that you want to do to get your business on the right direction is to negotiate with your affiliate manager and ask them to get you on weekly wires. This is something I was able to do quickly because I know it is essential in maintaining a cash flow for my business. If you are getting paid every 30 days or 60 days, sometimes even 90 days, there may be a problem with cash flow and most businesses close because of that and naturally you don’t want something like that to happen to you! -Jeff

pro traffic biddingBidding sometimes appears tricky but it doesn’t have to be. Here are some tricks to nail it and stop yourself from losing money.   Learning killer strategies on bidding is essential to attract success in your business. When I was just starting, I remember having to struggle with this and I ended up losing a lot of money; in fact so much that there was a time when I opened my computer around 9 AM and see that I’ve already lost over $1000! In your business, whatever it is that you are doing, whether it be pay per click, pay per view, or whatever, bidding strategically is essential, particularly when you are working with a budget. To me what I do to get things going nicely is to make sure I capture traffic as much as possible, as soon as I can so that I will get immediate results and adjust accordingly. From experience, what I find people doing is they normally bid lower. You may be doing this yourself and thinking you are saving money this way but in reality, you are not. Why? It is because a lower bid will not normally get you a good amount of traffic. If you don’t have that traffic, you will have problems. The crucial point here is to get yourself immediate traffic and make the most of it as much as you can. My personal strategy is I bid high in the beginning to get the traffic so that I know quickly which works and which do not. What you can do is set your bids high, the max per day on that campaign to get the traffic; if not you will get into lots of trouble. Do this and you will be able to generate more out of your campaigns and get the most out of your budget. boy-struggleIt is hard to focus. Most people working on a business struggle every day to focus on the things that matter, the things that make money. Oddly, it is easy to fall into the false sense of being busy. For a lot of marketers, their number one enemy is not their competition but themselves. Every day with work, it is crazy how many people (me included) go through their tasks without focusing. As a result, they waste a lot of energy on many of the things that don’t make them any money, such as phone calls, text messages, IM, Emails, Facebook, and a whole lot more. Don’t get me wrong some of that list is important but spending the majority of your time on them will not further your business. Getting distracted is easy and most times you think you are super busy when in fact you are dumping your time on the stuff that doesn’t help create the growth you want for your business. Always ask yourself if what you’re doing is making money or creating results and if it is not then you have to re-focus on what does. My key strategy to make focusing easier is to write up a top six list of things that I know are important and need to be done that day. I stick with that list and accomplish everything one after another through out the day. Focus on your list and you will get more stuff done. Focus on 20% of the activities that will create 80% results for you. If you take action on this strategy, it has the potential to take your business to the next level, all because you are focused on it. -Jeff
